What’s going down in The Originals Season 2? Well, courtesy of new spoilers revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 on Friday, July 25th, fang fans are no longer in the dark about what’s next for the wicked Mikaelson family members. That’s the good news. The bad news? Things are getting extra deadly in New Orleans this year! Not only are Esther and Mikael back from the Other Side, which vanished forever in the Vampire Diaries Season 5 finale, and the witches working overtime to wreak havoc on the local bloodsuckers, but Klaus and Elijah have a new problem on their hands: Hybrid Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin)! After being forced to give up her baby and having her throat slit — and reawakening half vamp, half werewolf — the first-time mother is mad as hell, and she’s taking out her aggression on the heartless witches who attacked her and her child, Hope Mikaelson
Thankfully though, in between all the savage feeding sessions (wipe your mouth, Hayley-cakes), life-threatening scenarios (put that white oak stake down, Papa Mikaelson, and step away from Elijah and his best suit!), mysterious introductions (beware of Caleb, young Davina), magical incantations (moonstone rings galore!) ruthless showdowns (Klaus is a bit too keen on matricide if you ask us), lucky viewers were treated to an adorable and tender moment between Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Baby Hope. The proud auntie regales the infant with a harrowing fairytale recap of Klaus’s and Elijah’s intense return to NOLA and all the conflict that arose when the Guerreras and Elder Witches decided to join forces in order to incapacitate the powerful and virtually indestructible vamps. (Plus, we caught a glimpse of Kol’s handsome face so that certainly bodes well for all us Nathaniel Buzolic lovers!)
