‘The Originals’ Season 2 Trailer Teases Murder and Mayhem Galore: See the Video!

My, oh, my! We don’t know about you, loves, but we’re feeling rather spoiled lately. After an unbearably long summer with nary a peep from our favorite French Quarter baddies (saved for this chilling Comic-Con story hour), we’re now being treated to sneak peek trailers galore. Not that we’re complaining, of course — we’re just taking a moment to let it sink in that The Originals Season 2 premiere is almost upon us. In fact, the highly anticipated event is so close can practically smell the bloodshed!

So, what generous gift did The CW come bearing today? An extended, minute-long trailer packed with murder, mayhem, and Mikaelson family drama! Apparently executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci, as well as the talented cast and writers, intend to give us plenty of heart palpitations this year.

While we’ve already seen some of the footage in the “Vicious” trailer, there is still lots of new material to sink our teeth into. For example, in one scene, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) stares disapprovingly at the mangled corpse of a young girl that was left inside his courtyard (ugh! he just renovated the place!), and in the next finds himself up close and personal with some lady’s unclothed figure. Meanwhile, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is having a hard time adjusting to her new hybrid status. We see her crying about how everything has changed. “I was a mother, now I’m a monster,” she laments, breaking our hearts with every sharp inhale of air. There’s also an interesting moment in which an angry Francesca (Peta Sergeant) growls about how she’s top dog in New Orleans and the battle never comes to her — she goes to it!

But the best part is the line at the end! You know, when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) offers his wisdom on life and relationships. It’s powerful and beautifully delivered: “A warrior fights for what they believe in. A warrior fights for his family.” Hear hear!
